*Updates*

I originally wrote this the last week of March so if some things seem off, they probably are....

Camden is now 11 and 1/2 months old. He is at such a fun age. We love it. He is very mobile and into everything and puts EVERYTHING in his mouth. Since I haven't posted in a while, here is a recap of what has happened the last while.
We had Camden's 9 month well check up. Camden loves going to the doctor especially beacuse he gets a new book at each appointment now (He LOVES books). His 9 months stats are as follows:
Height: 28.5 inches - 59th percentile
Weight: 18 pounds - 12th percentile
Head Circumference: 18 inches - 62nd percentile
When he was born, he was in the high 60-70th percentile for his weight and now he is in the teens. I asked the doctor about it and if I needed to suplement and he said that he doesn't seem too concerned especially because babies this age are much more mobile so they are burning lots of calories. Camden also wasn't crawling at that point but he was pulling himself up to things and walking around them, so we asked the Doctor about that as well. He told us that if he wasn't doing those things at the next developmental stage (pulling himself up) then he would be concerned, but he's not. He told us that Camden probably doesn't want to crawl and can access everything he needs without crawling. I felt much better about my parenting after leaving the Doctor that day.
Camden also got really sick the last week of February. He developed a really bad cough and was gasping a lot. We took him to the Doctor and found out that his oxygen was on the low level of being normal. They tested him for RSV and it came back negative. They were going to test him for something else (I can't remember the name) but they said whether or not he has it won't change the course of action. We left with a perscription for Abuiteral and instructions to do breathing treatments every 4-6 hours for the next few days and then as needed after that and then to just wait it out (I hate having to wait a sickness out. I feel like that is one of the worst things that the Doctor can tell you). Camden did not like breathing treatments at all. He did not like having that mask on his face. We finally were able to get him to take them by (1) turning on the tv while we did the 15 minute treatment, (2) putting his pacificer in (we figured he was still getting some through his nose and that was better than nothing), and (3) holding it a few inches away from his face. He was only bad for about a week and then was back to his normal self.
My little brother Erik had another surgery in the first week of March up at Huntsman Cancer Institue. The surgery went really well and they are hoping that they got everything. For more details, see my Mom's blog... http://thedennisgrayfamily.blogspot.com/
Camden started crawling the 3rd week in February. One day he just started and hasn't gone back. He has the cutest little crawl. He doesn't crawl on all fours, but keeps his right leg in a half standing position.
As far as eating goes, Camden never liked baby food or rice cereal. We tried at 4 months and then about every week after that with no success at all. He is still nursing but eats everything he can get his hands on. He eats just about everything we eat except for fruit. I don't think he likes the sweet taste of it (which Tim thinks is crazy because I love sweets). Since he still doesn't have any teeth at all, I just break it up into little pieces that he can gum and then swallow. Some of the things he likes to eat are: Ritz crackers, soda crackers, pizza, bread, soggy cereal, eggs, and any kind of soup. He is very independent and loves to feed himself whenever possible. He can grab food and put it in his mouth. If the food starts to fall out, he uses his whole hand and tries to shove it back in there. It is adorable and makes me laugh all the time.
Back in February/March, Camden went from sleeping real good to waking up two or three times to eat. I have tried giving him a bottle with formula before bed as well as nursing him but still had him waking up. I think it is due to me being stressed with tax season and working alot. He can probably sense my stress. The good thing though is that he is quick when he gets up. He eats quick and we are both back in bed within 15 minutes. I kept thinking this phase would pass but it hasn't so I am in the process of trying some sleep training right now. I am reading a No-Cry Sleep Solution book and am finding out a lot of things to try and am hoping within the next 2 months that he will be sleeping longer because of it. I'm definately crossing my fingers!! As far as nap times, he is down to 2 naps a day, one in the morning and one in the late afternoon.
We have also gone swimming quite a bit lately. Usually Camden will just sit in the water and watch what is going on. He is quite the observant man.  We went swimming and he actually started crawling around in the water and splashing and having a great time. He was splashing so much that he kept getting water in his face and wasn't quite sure how to stop. We were so excited that he is loving swimming now. I am planning to do a Mommy & Me swim class sometime in the next few months and am hoping that he really learns to love the water.

He also cut his first two bottom teeth the first part of April.  He has been drooling since about 3 months, so we are glad that they are finally starting to come through.
Here are a few miscellanous things about Camden:
**Repeats what we say (hey, hi dad, dad, eat, yum)
**Walks around the entire room holding onto furniture or the wall
**Loves to read books
**Pulls his socks off ALL the time
**Has learned how to scream
**Loves the bath/shower (he loves to shower when I am and has learned how to open the shower door so he can come play too)
**Wears 6-12 month shirts (depending on the brand) and wears 9-12 month pants
**Absolutely LOVES church. He loves the music and seeing all the people. Getting him to take a nap is almost impossible. When we get home, he eats and then takes a long 2 and 1/2 to 3 hour nap.
As far as things with Tim & I, we are enjoying playing with and watching Camden grow up. Tim is working on a job down in St. George right now. They are working on the exterior of the Old Pioneer Courthouse just off the boulevard. We are so grateful that Precision has been blessed with work in these hard times. We know that the Lord is making sure that we are taken care of. He also was recently called to be the Elder's Quorum 2nd counselor and has been quite busy with that. I am still working for HintonBurdick. My part-time 10 hours 2 days a week working has turned into 30-35 hours, 6 days a week because of tax season. I still only go in the office 2 days a week (Tuesday and Thursday) from 8 to 2 and work all my other hours from home. I am set up to work remotely which I absolutely love. I have access to all the printers and everything I need which I am SO grateful for. I can get so much more done because I don't have to work about my phone ringing (when I am in the office, I feel like it rings nonstop because the clients I work on, know that I am only in for those few hours two days a week). I only work when Camden is down for a nap or when Tim is home at night to watch him. It was a crazy few months.

Jazz Game

Tim & I had the opportunity to go to a Jazz Game on January 14. The Jazz hosted the New Jersey Nets. We went with Curtis and his wife and sat in seats that Sunroc had. We had tickets to a dinner there befoe and had a half time desert. It was really fun. Tim & I hadn't sat that low before.

New Years & Idaho Falls

For New Years we went to Delta. Tom & Sarah hosted all of Tim's family. We had Tim's family Christmas party that night also. They had a pinata that all the kids were able to help break.Camden definately was spoiled once again. Camden also stayed up until midnight and helped ring the new year in too.

We stayed Sunday night again in Delta and traveled up North to Idaho Falls to attend my Uncle Mike Gray's funeral. It was a quick trip up and back but it was nice to see that side of the family.

Tim's Birthday

We spent most of the day traveling back from California on Tim's birthday. Since it was his golden birthday this year (he turned 28 on the 28th), I tried to make it special for him. I tried to give him a present everyday for 28 days. I ended up having 20 and let him choose a present to open every other day up through his birthday. He got plenty of new clothes and some gift cards. He bought this the other day with all of his Home Depot gift cards that he received.

Christmas in California

This year was our year to have Christmas with my family. They decided to go to a condo in Palm Springs, California for a week. We left on Friday and traveled down. Saturday (Christmas Eve) We went to Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia (Northern LA). We were worried that it was going to be packed, but it ended up being the perfect day. We were able to go on every single ride that we wanted as many times as we wanted. It was amazing! We waited maybe 10 minutes at the very most to go on the rides with the longest lines. Towards the end of the day, we started to get sick because we had go on ride after ride after ride with not much of a break in between.

Sunday we woke up and saw what Santa brought. Camden was spoiled. He got a walker that has a musical toy on front, some car keys, a phone, books, pajamas, clothes, a car seat, a booster chair, and more that I can't remember right now. He enjoyed opening presents for a while and then got really tired and was ready for a nap. We went to a church in Palm Springs.

Monday we went hung out at the condo and swam. Camden really enjoyed the water and swimming. It was his first experience doing that (because it has been way too cold here).

Tuesday we did a little bit of shopping and just relaxed more.

Wednesday we traveled home.

November & December

Throughout the month of November and December, we traveled just about every weekend. The first weekend, Tom & Sarah blessed Stockton in Delta. The next weekend, we attended the funeral for Tim's cousin, Kyson Holt. The next weekend we were at home.

Camden had his 6 month appointment. His stats were as follows:
Weight: 16 lbs 2 oz 20% percentile
Height: 27 1/4" 73% percentile
Head: 17 1/4" 47% percentile

For Thanksgiving, we went to Delta. We didn't do any Black Friday shopping this year which I kinda missed but it was nice to sleep in and enjoy ourselves.

The first weekend in December was my work Christmas Party in St. George. We took Camden and stayed at my Grandma Polatis house that night. We attended the temple and did a bunch of shopping the next day.

Camden got his first ear infection/croup halfway through the month. He went to bed like normal but didn't eat at all during the night (which he usually eats at least once). He also wouldn't eat when we woke up. Finally at 10 am, I called and set up a Dr. appointment for 11:30 with another doctor in the office, since his wasn't available. He got a shot for the croup and then 2 prescriptions for the ear infection. One was the antibiotic and the other was an ear numbing medication so that he could eat. He would NOT nurse at all during this time so I pumped and fed him a bottle from the Thursday that he was sick clear through the next Monday. Monday afternoon he finally started nursing again which was a huge relief.

We attended the Tasker Christmas Party the third weekend of December. We took a daytrip because it was the same weekend that Camden was getting over his ear infection. It is always nice to see everyone at the parties.

First Halloween

Camden celebrated his first Halloween. We went trunk-or-treating the weekend before at all the Car Dealerships in town. They each had some candy and a fishing game that Camden got the hang of pretty quick. He dressed up as a cow. We went with our friends, Jared & Candace Fowles and their girl Dakota. It was fun to have another night to dress up. The night of Halloween we went out to the Trunk-or-Treat that is held out in my parents neighborhood. They have soups, a costume parade, and then trunk-or-treating at all the cars. Camden got quite a bit of candy and seemed to enjoy holding his bag. The next day, we took his candy to a local dentist office that was buying back candy and sold him. He had 3.5 pounds and received $2 a pound. We took his $7 and bought him some new pacifiers and a crinkly book that he can chew on. Tim and I decided that as our kids grow older, we are going to offer to match whatever the Dentist office pays them for candy (if they want to sell it back) so they can buy a toy instead.

California Vacation

Tim had some time that he needed to take off work so we took a much needed vacation in the last part of October. I'm not sure where all of the pictures are right now, so for the sake of catching up, I will just post details for now. Tim's mom, sister Jody and her two kids (Ti & Zoe), his brother Travis and three of his kids (Trenton, Ashlynn, Addison), and Kaden Holt (Tim's cousin that is Ti & Trenton's age), all came along too. We left on a Friday and traveled to Valencia, California. We went to Six Flags Magic Mountain on Saturday. It was crazy and packed. They had to wait at least an hour for every ride that they wanted to go on. Camden enjoyed the merry-go-round and people watching.

Sunday we traveled to the beach and to our next destination, Anaheim California. Everyone but us went to Disnleyland on Monday. We went to the Aquarium of the Pacific and saw all the sea animals. We were able to touch the sharks and other sea animals. Camden was able to touch a stingray too (which was neat since Tim and I held them on our cruise almost a year before). We almost went to the Bubba Gump Shrimp Restuarant and got an appetizer.

Tuesday we decided to join everyone else and go to Disneyland too. We originally didn't want to go because it's $80 a ticket and Camden isn't at the age that he would care, but we ended up going and loved it. It wasn't very busy and we were able to go on pretty much all of the rides that we wanted a few times. We were able to use a "switch-rider" pass too which was nice. The "switch-rider" pass allows the individual staying back with the kids to go on the ride too. The first adult will get that pass when they get to the front of the line and then give it to the other adult after they get off. The 2nd adult can then go through the exit and only have to wait a few minutes to ride. Tim also enjoyed Disneyland too. We are excited for our kids to be older and have them enjoy it too. Tuesday night we drove to Primm, Nevada and stayed the night. We got up and went shopping and finished driving home. It was a nice, quick trip.

New Truck

We have been looking for quite a while for a new truck for Tim to drive. We needed something that was 4 wheel drive that got good gas mileage. We were trying to decide if we wanted a 2 door and to get an SUV or if we wanted a 4 door and to keep our car. We had so many options and were having a hard time deciding. We went to the temple one Saturday hoping for an answer. The next Monday, Tim received a text from a friend that we were looking at buying his truck last December (but we wanted to sell Tim's truck first but never did so didn't buy his truck). He asked Tim if we were still interested in buying his truck. Tim talked to him and we found out that only 1,000ish more miles were put on the truck since we drove it last December (he had it parked for the summer while he went selling). We felt good about it and went to the bank and got him a check the next day. We were really excited about it! It's a 2006 Toyota Tacoma 4 door 4x4 with approximately 56,000 miles. It's a little bit older than what we wanted but the miles were low for the year and we knew that the previous owner "babied" it and really took care of it, so we felt comfortable with purchasing it.

We were a little nervous to buy this truck without selling Tim's first, but felt comfortable with the decision to buy it so we did. We parked Tim's old truck (2001 Dodge Ram 2500 ) in front of the hospital with "For Sale" signs on it. We parked it on a Saturday night and sold it by Thursday for more than we thought. We were hoping to get $6,500 out of it but sold it for $7,500. It was definately something that we were supposed to buy and I'm grateful for the way that everything worked out and for the sweet peace that we felt through the whole process.
